PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a deputy-involved shooting in the area of Denton Ave. and Dane Ln. in Hudson.
According to Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco, deputies were called to assist an adult woman with a knife, and a confrontation ensued.
Nocco noted that the woman, 29-year-old Isabella North, told a passerby, “I have been diagnosed as clinically insane.”
“They (deputies) knew that she was homicidal, and they knew that she had a knife. They quickly arrived on the scene. They started talking to her, and they tried to have a positive interaction, but very quickly, she pulled out a 12-inch knife from her side,” said Nocco.

“She pulls that knife up in an attacking position. She raised it above her head in a fighting position. This is all happening extremely rapidly as she pulls out the knife. They pull out their guns. They draw down. They started giving her demands to drop the knife,” said Nocco.
“They (deputies) were trying to de-escalate that situation as quickly as possible. However, the subject kept moving towards the deputies. She kept approaching in a quicker and faster manner and forced the deputies to have to fire it around to her to protect their own lives.
Nocco said that each of the two deputies on the scene fired one round.
No deputies were injured during the incident, and the woman was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Pasco Sheriff’s Office will be releasing the body-worn camera footage of the incident, and we will publish it as soon as we get it.
