TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police responded to a pedestrian-related traffic fatality that occurred in the 8700 Block of 40th Street on Friday at 9:42 pm.

Police say a woman was attempting to cross N. 40th St, westbound, in the crosswalk just north of E. Yukon St.

She was struck by a Buick Enclave that was traveling northbound.

According to police, the woman sustained life-threatening injuries and died as a result of her injuries.

While the cause of the crash was under investigation, 40th Street between Yukon Street and Humphrey Street was closed but has since reopened.
