ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 38-year-old woman has tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in a three-vehicle accident that occurred on Thursday, August 8, in St. Petersburg.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. at 9th Avenue North and 58th Street North. A Ford Escape traveling eastbound on 9th Avenue North ran a red light and collided with a northbound Chevy Silverado on 58th Street North.

The impact caused the Ford Escape to overturn and strike an Infiniti G37 stopped at the red light in the westbound median lane of 9th Avenue North.

The two occupants of the Ford Escape and the driver of the Infiniti G37 were transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital for medical treatment. The condition of the Silverado driver remains unknown.

Sadly, the 38-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Ford Escape, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, August 11th. Her identity is being withheld until her next-of-kin are notified.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
