TAMPA, Fla. – Two Tampa woman ages, 24, and 23, were killed overnight in a head-on collision on Dale Mabry Highway.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 3:00 AM, an SUV driven by the 24 -year-old Tampa woman, was traveling southbound on Dale Mabry Highway, south of Gunn Highway.

Investigators say the SUV crossed over into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a car, driven by the 23-year-old Tampa woman.

Both drivers suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, according to FHP.

A portion of Dale Mabry was closed for the crash investigation and since reopened.
