Former President Donald Trump’s campaign has filed a Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint against President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, alleging violations of campaign finance laws. The complaint centers on a $91.5 million transfer from Biden’s campaign to Harris’ campaign.
David Warrington, the general counsel for Trump’s campaign, filed the complaint, which was first reported by The New York Times.
The filing follows Harris’s confirmation of her delegates, establishing her as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

“Kamala Harris is seeking to perpetrate a $91.5 million dollar heist of Joe Biden’s leftover campaign cash — a brazen money grab that would constitute the single largest excessive contribution and biggest violation in the history of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended,” Warrington wrote.
The complaint accuses Biden, Harris, and the campaign treasurer of “flagrantly violating the Act by making and receiving an excessive contribution of nearly one hundred million dollars, and for filing fraudulent forms with the Commission purporting to repurpose one candidate’s principal campaign committee for the use of another candidate.”
Harris confirmed her nomination at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in August after securing more than 3,000 delegate pledges, surpassing the required 1,976 delegates, according to The Associated Press.
This development follows Biden’s announcement on Sunday that he would withdraw from the 2024 presidential race. In a letter posted to X (formerly known as Twitter), Biden stated that although he intended to seek reelection, he believed it was best for the party and country to focus on completing his current term.

In a subsequent post, Biden endorsed Harris as the next nominee, urging Democrats to “come together and beat Trump.”
Since Biden’s withdrawal, Harris has received significant support from lawmakers and Democratic donors, raising over $100 million.
