TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. – A Treasure Island man has been arrested on multiple charges of possession of child pornography and sexual battery of a child.
Detectives from the Treasure Island Police Department arrested Robert Douglas Farland, 39, of Treasure Island, on several charges, including Sexual Battery of a person over 12 under 18 (1 count) and Possession of child pornography (8 counts).
Farland was arrested on Feb. 6, police say.

A few months ago, an investigation into Farland was opened after the victim reported the incident to TIPD. Using various investigative tools, the detective assigned to the case was able to uncover crimes that Farland had committed.
“I am very proud of the dedication of our officers and detective as they sought justice for this victim, Treasure Island Police Chief John Barkley said. “Their tenacity led to this arrest.”
Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation is still ongoing.
