A move to a new home can be one of the most stressful experiences in someone’s life, so it is understandable that people are on the lookout for ways to make it easier. People tend to forget certain really simple items when they’re planning a move. Obviously not through their own fault. We all forget from time to time. Make sure you don’t forget any of these simple things when moving home by taking a look here at some of the things people sometimes forget.

Labels
Although obviously one of the obvious things you can think about when packing, it is easy to forget to label your boxes when rushing. You may think that a really simple mistake is nothing but a fleeting blunder, but it could really put your move in an extremely prickly situation. You might find yourself pulling your hair out, and it could actually end up being a really difficult move. Make sure you include this as you label each box, as well as anyone who is helping you. As much information as possible, but just a general indication, should be included, such as the name of the room they will go into when unloaded, and perhaps a description of what will be inside. Any fragile or heavy boxes should be clearly marked as this will ensure the crew will be extra careful when they handle them. The addition of ‘unpack first’ would be particularly useful when searching for your toothbrush or kettle.
The Right Packing
You can run into a number of problems if the packing materials you use when moving aren’t the right ones. One of the biggest ones is damage to your possessions. Even bin bags of clothes can easily tear open leaving your items all over the place and damaging your property. Boxes that aren’t strong or large enough for their contents can easily collapse purely because of the weight. A move will not be a success if you use bags and boxes that aren’t suitable for the job at hand, so make sure to purchase reputable packaging materials. A moving company is more likely to handle delicate items than dodgy bin bags. If you move in bad weather, you are putting your items at risk for the elements if you use rubbish supplies. Stores often give away free cardboard boxes, and because they carry heavy stock, they have already proven their worth.
Packing Too Much Too Quick
Getting into the packing groove can make it easy to go overboard and you will not be able to stop. That’s good and bad. You don’t want to get carried away and pack things you might actually need on the apartment moving day.
Having anyone help you can make things even worse as they won’t know what you need before or during your move, so your priority is simply to pack your things in boxes, so make sure you put your needed items to one side and inform anyone helping that they must be left alone.
