Tragedy struck a local Church’s Chicken restaurant in Tennessee Monday night when an employee was fatally shot following an argument with a customer in the drive-thru.

Police in Memphis responded to the scene around 9 p.m. and found the female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to Regional One Hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.

According to investigators, the suspect, described as a woman with purple hair driving a teal SUV, engaged in a verbal altercation with the employee before driving away. Moments later, the employee stepped outside for air when a gunshot rang out.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle speeding away from the scene.

While police have located the teal SUV, no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify and apprehend the suspect.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released publicly. The Church’s Chicken franchise has expressed its condolences and is cooperating fully with the police investigation.

This senseless act of violence has shocked the community and raised concerns about workplace safety. Local leaders and residents are calling for justice for the victim and increased measures to protect service industry workers.
