TAMPA, FL. – A portion of N Highland Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and N Violet Street will close at 9 am beginning on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, for utility construction as part of the Southeast Seminole Heights Flooding Relief Project.
N Highland Avenue between W Frierson Avenue and W Haya Street will close at 9 am on February 15, 2022, for the relocation of a sewer line across N Highland Avenue at W Crest Avenue.
N Highland Avenue between W Frierson Avenue and W Haya Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, February 18, 2022, weather permitting.
The sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.
The Southeast Seminole Heights Flooding Relief Project involves building a major stormwater conveyance system to improve drainage and reduce flooding of roadways, homes, and businesses and associated relocation of other utilities.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
