TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at the 700 block of S. Howard Ave. at 6:10 am on Thursday.

Officials say that Engine 3 was first on the scene and found a modified two-story commercial restaurant with heavy smoke showing from the roof of the structure.

Fire was found in the kitchen area and office space. A primary and secondary search was completed with no occupants in the building.

Firefighters made an interior attack on the fire and had the fire under control within 30 minutes. No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported at the scene.

Due to the location of the building, northbound and southbound lanes of S. Howard Ave were shut down for the safety of our first responders.
