TAMPA, Fla. – With Tropical Storm Milton looming in the Gulf of Mexico and threatening to bring inclement weather to the region, Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa are temporarily closing their Comfort Stations. The stations will close at 5:00 PM today, October 5th, until further notice.

These Comfort Stations have been providing vital services to residents still recovering from the impacts of Hurricane Helene. Services offered include mobile laundry, showers, electronic charging stations, food, water, and permitting assistance for home and business repairs. Three stations have been operating across the city.

“We know that many residents are still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Helene, and unfortunately forecasts for the system in the Gulf have become more serious,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “We will continue to monitor the track of this storm so we can re-open these service stations to provide relief to those in need as they focus on recovery.”

The Comfort Stations are located at the following addresses:

  • Marjorie Park Marina – 97 Columbia Drive
  • DeSoto Park – 2617 Corrine Street
  • Gandy Civic Association – 4207 West Oklahoma Avenue

The comfort stations will be returned to service and placed in the neighborhoods most in need as soon as it is safe to do so.
