St. Petersburg Begins Hurricane Helene Damage Assessment

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg is working to recover after being hit by two hurricanes. Here’s an update on city services and resources:

City Events and Meetings:

  • City offices are open, but all City Council and Committee meetings this week (Oct. 14-18) are canceled.
  • Supplier Diversity Day (Oct. 15) is also canceled.
  • Check www.stpete.org/events for event updates.

Mobile Permitting:

  • To help residents with storm repairs, remote permitting sites will be open Wednesday, Oct. 16 – Friday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations:
    • Azalea Recreation Center: 1600 72nd St. N
    • Enoch D. Davis Center: 1111 18th Ave. S
    • Roberts Recreation Center: 1246 50th Ave. N
  • These sites accept debit/credit cards only.

Boil Water Notice:

  • The boil water notice for St. Petersburg, South Pasadena, and Lealman has been lifted.

Comfort and Charging Stations:

  • Several locations are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for residents to cool off and charge devices:
    • Enoch D. Davis Center
    • Roberts Recreation Center
    • Azalea Recreation Center

Multiagency Recovery Center (MARC):

  • The MARC at the Enoch D. Davis Center offers a centralized location for residents to access services and information related to disaster recovery.
  • Hours: Monday, Oct. 14 (1 p.m. to 7 p.m.); Tuesday, Oct. 15 onwards (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Participating agencies include FEMA, Florida Department of Veterans Affairs, Florida Department of Commerce, and others.
  • Residents should bring identification, proof of residence, insurance information, and documentation of losses.
  • FEMA assistance can also be accessed online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, via the FEMA app, or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

Debris Removal:

  • Residential debris collection has resumed. Place debris in separate piles at the curb (do not bag it).
  • The city is working with local haulers to expedite debris removal.
  • City brush sites are open 7 days a week, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (see www.stpete.org/brushsites for locations).
  • Commercial businesses and landscapers should use the Temporary Debris Management site at 1953 72nd St. N.
