ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 79-year-old St. Petersburg man died after a crash around 6:30 am on Wednesday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 2019 Ford Van was traveling southbound on 66th Street North, north of 56th Avenue North, as the St. Pete man walked westbound across the highway. 

Troopers say the man entered the path of the van and was struck, and was struck, suffering fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the van, a 57-year-old St. Petersburg man, was not injured in the crash.
