ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A St. Petersburg man was killed overnight after being struck by two vehicles on 54th Avenue North.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 11:40 p.m. on Friday, a Kia Optima was traveling eastbound on 54th Avenue North, west of 28th Street North.
According to troopers, a pedestrian crossed in front of the car, which then struck the person.

Evidence indicates that at least one other unknown vehicle struck the pedestrian after the initial crash.
The pedestrian, a 39-year-old St. Petersburg man, suffered fatal injuries at the crash scene.
The driver of the Kia, a 37-year-old St. Petersburg woman, was uninjured during the incident.
