ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg Fire Rescue battled a blaze Thursday, protecting home exposures from a fully involved structure fire.

At approximately 11:00 a.m., St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to the 1700 block of 19th St S for reports of “whole home is engulfed.”

Units arrived to find a single-family home with all the occupants outside safe. Crews were able to isolate the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.

There are no injuries, and the bulk of the fire is out, officials say.

The home had a roof collapse that kept some areas hot, but we used water to ensure complete extinguishment. The situation is under control and still an active scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
