HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A registered sex offender in Hernando County has been arrested for failing to report his social media accounts to authorities.

Kent Douglas Baker, 67, was arrested on October 24th and charged with four counts of failing to comply with sex offender reporting requirements. Baker was required to register as a sex offender following a 2014 conviction in West Virginia for battery on a minor.

An investigation revealed that Baker was actively using four social media accounts that he had not reported to the sheriff’s office, a violation of his registration requirements.

Following an interview with detectives, Baker admitted to using the unreported accounts. He was arrested and is currently being held without bond at the Hernando County Detention Center.
