SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is investigating the death of an inmate that occurred early Saturday morning in the medical wing of the county correctional facility.
Kevin Mandujano Garcia, 33, of Sarasota, was found unresponsive in a recovery pod at approximately 6:24 am. Corrections deputies immediately notified medical staff, who attempted lifesaving measures.
Unfortunately, Mr. Garcia was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Investigation Underway
The cause of death remains undetermined. No visible signs of trauma or injuries were found on Mr. Garcia. The Sarasota County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
