Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis apparently has decided to set aside the feud with former President Donald Trump and help the presumptive Republican nominee return to the White House.
NBC News reported Wednesday that Florida’s governor will work to raise campaign cash for Trump.
Before and after he ended his own presidential campaign in January, DeSantis pledged to support the GOP nominee, whoever that was.
Despite that, this turn seems surprising since Trump continues to ridicule his former primary rival on the campaign trail.

DeSantis appears to be embarking on a “strategic shift.”
DeSantis reportedly announced his intention to help Trump at a private retreat last weekend for GOP donors at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in South Florida.
The governor made the comments on the same day Trump hauled in a massive $51 million at a Mar-a-Lago fundraiser.
“I would say the majority in the room would now be willing to help Trump,” said one unidentified pro-DeSantis fundraiser who attended the Hard Rock gathering.
One donor who went on the record with NBC was Texas businessman Roy Bailey, a former co-chairman of DeSantis’ national finance advisory board.
Bailey said on Wednesday, “I will follow the governor’s lead and I will do anything that he or President Trump ask me to do to help him win this election.”

“I know where there are DeSantis supporters all over Texas and all over the country that will want to help President Trump. So that’s what I’ll try to make happen,” Bailey added.
The Trump camp was surprised but seemed ready to accept the assistance.
A Trump campaign adviser said they were not aware that DeSantis was going to start raising money from them but added that “everyone should be working towards defeating Joe Biden and electing President Trump.”
