HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – The remains of a 63-year-old Dade City man, who had been reported missing since September 8th, were discovered on the shoulder of US-301, north of SR-50, on September 19th.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office located the remains and contacted the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) to investigate the suspected hit-and-run incident.

The victim was identified on September 20th, and his family has been notified. The exact time of the crash remains unknown.

FHP Troopers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in the incident. Anyone with information is urged to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
