POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A man has been taken into custody following a reported barricade situation on Monday in Polk County.

According to Polk County Sheriff’s Office, at about 12:01 pm, Monday, deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to an Alturas residence, between Bartow and Lake Wales, south of State Road 60, just off of South Hankin Road.

It was reported that an adult male had been yelling and shooting a firearm into the air, then retreated into the residence.

Deputies say at 5:09 pm, SWAT deputies were able to arrest the suspect.
