Polk County Sees 74 DUI Arrests In August

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 74 individuals for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of alcohol and/or drugs in August, with 21 of these arrests linked to crashes.

One arrest involved a charge of child neglect/abuse as a 7-year-old child was present in the vehicle.

These figures solely represent arrests made by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and do not include those made by other city police departments or the Florida Highway Patrol within the county.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public to report suspected impaired drivers immediately by calling 9-1-1.
