POLK CITY, Fla. – Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) responded to a residential structure fire caused by an arching power line on Foxtown N in Polk City on Monday.

Dispatched at 9:39 a.m., Rescue 17 and Squad 17 arrived on the scene by 9:47 a.m. to find a one-story residence ablaze.

After a thorough scene assessment, PCFR crews swiftly and cautiously extinguished the fire by 10:04 a.m., despite the fire spreading to the attic. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a fallen tree impacting a power line.
