Historic Downtown Plant City looks much like it did over 100 years ago with many of the original buildings still around. One of those gems is Miss Ruby’s Antiques & Collectibles, in business since 2009. The entrance is comprised of a long windowed hallway decorated frequently by Lisa, one of the vendors, for the season with antique furniture and unique items from days gone by.
According to records, the store was built in 1914 as the old McCrory’s, then a shoe store called Florsheim and last but not least the Plant City Archives. Open the original wooden doors at the entrance and you will get a friendly welcome. Once inside the store, you will be in awe, you can still walk on the original wooden floors and look up towards the back wall and see areas where store display would have been.
There are 19 vendors in Miss Ruby’s selling a wide assortment of items including 1800’s clothing, vintage bottles, glassware, signs, jewelry, holiday items, hats, dishware, cookie jars, grocery store tins, pictures, furniture, purses, candy, signs, comic books, mugs, vintage hardback books, just about something of interest for everyone!
Current hours are Tuesday through Friday 11 am-4 pm, Saturday 10 am-4 pm, Closed Sunday & Monday. Owner Maddie Lattarulo says “Come on down to Miss Ruby’s, we have lots of sales and fun!” Many vendors are currently having 10%-50% off in their booths.
Miss Ruby’s is located at 119 N Collins St, Plant City, FL 33563
