PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The Pinellas County Commission has once again lowered the property tax rate as part of its newly approved $4.3 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2025. This marks the third time in four years that the County has reduced the property tax burden on its residents.

The budget emphasizes cost containment and efficiency, ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality services while lowering the Countywide General Fund millage, the Countywide Emergency Medical Services millage, and other property tax rates.

Key priorities of the budget include:

  • Sustained support for public safety, including Sheriff’s operations, regional 911 services, emergency medical response, and County-supported first responders.
  • Enhanced maintenance of roads, bridges, and transportation infrastructure.
  • Preservation of natural assets, particularly beaches, with full funding for beach nourishment in FY25.
  • Support for the recently launched Care About Me (CAM) behavioral healthcare access model.
  • Advancement of affordable housing initiatives in collaboration with municipalities.

The county budget comprises only about one-third of most residents’ property tax bills, with the remainder allocated to other entities like the school system, municipalities, and the transit authority.
