ORLANDO, Fla. – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced Tuesday that Chadwick Lemaine, 26, of Orlando, has pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Lemaine faces up to 15 years in federal prison and is scheduled for sentencing on October 31, 2024.

Court records show that Lemaine had prior felony convictions in 2018 and 2019, prohibiting him from possessing firearms. On May 26, 2023, during a traffic stop conducted by the Orlando Police Department, officers discovered narcotics and a firearm in Lemaine’s vehicle. DNA analysis confirmed his connection to the firearm.

This case was jointly investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Orlando Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Adam J. Nate is prosecuting the case.

The prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a Department of Justice initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through community collaboration and targeted enforcement.
