PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – A tragic crash in Pinellas Park Friday night has left one woman dead and a 9-year-old girl seriously injured. Police have arrested the driver of the other vehicle, Enerildo Lopez Rojas, 57, on DUI charges.

The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on US Highway 19 North. Consuelo Serralde was driving a white Kawasaki motorcycle northbound with a young girl as her passenger when a white Toyota Tacoma, driven by Rojas, turned left into their path. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the Tacoma.

Serralde was transported to a local hospital where she tragically succumbed to her injuries. The 9-year-old passenger remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition. Both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Rojas showed signs of impairment at the scene and was arrested for DUI manslaughter, DUI with serious bodily injury, and resisting an officer. He is currently in custody.

The Pinellas Park Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash

PREVIOUS REPORT: A serious crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck has left a woman in critical condition and a juvenile injured.

The accident occurred around 8:30 PM on Friday, October 18th, in the 8200 block of US Highway 19 North. The Pinellas Park Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Investigators are currently on the scene.

Both the female driver of the motorcycle and the juvenile passenger were transported to local hospitals. The woman is in critical condition, while the juvenile is stable. Both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and northbound US 19 at 82nd Avenue is currently closed.

An update is expected tomorrow once the investigation is complete.
