The mother of a Virginia 6-year-old who shot his first-grade teacher will spend nearly two years in prison for lying about her drug use when she purchased the gun.

That’s the same crime federal prosecutors accuse Hunter Biden of committing.

In the Virginia case, Deja Taylor, who is also black, was sentenced to 21 months in prison earlier this week for lying on the federal form she completed when she legally purchased the 9mm pistol.

In January, Taylor’s son used the gun to shoot his teacher, Abby Zwerner. Zwerner survived.

The youth then bragged that he “shot the b—- dead” after pulling the trigger.

Zwerner had complained several times about the child making violent threats and the school did nothing. According to reports, assistant principal Ebony Parker was told three times that day that the boy had the gun, and she also did not respond.

It’s unclear how the first-grader obtained the gun. Taylor told police that she believed the gun was secured in her purse with a trigger lock on top of her bedroom dresser the morning of the shooting, and that the key for the lock was under her mattress.

But relative to Hunter Biden, it’s been reported that investigators found nearly an ounce of marijuana in Taylor’s bedroom and evidence of her repeated drug use in her text messages and paraphernalia.

Federal prosecutors, in court records, claimed Taylor’s drug use was “chronic, persistent and … life-affecting abuse (that) extends this case far beyond any occasional and/or recreational use.”

“This case is not a marijuana case,” they argued. “It is a case that underscores the inherently dangerous nature and circumstances that arise from the caustic cocktail of mixing consistent and prolonged controlled substance use with a lethal firearm.”

Even her lawyers admitted that her pot use was an “addiction.”

But Hunter Biden claims his case was politically motivated and seeks to subpoena former President Donald Trump to prove that.

Biden was indicted in September on two counts of completing a form in October 2018 that indicated he was not using illegal drugs when he bought a Colt Cobra revolver. The third count alleges that he possessed a gun while using narcotics.

Biden certified on the same federal form Taylor completed that “he was not an unlawful user of, and addicted to, any stimulant, narcotic drug, and any other controlled substance, when in fact, as he knew, that statement was false and fictitious.”

Biden was reportedly addicted to and using crack cocaine when he purchased the gun.

Biden’s indictment came after a sweetheart plea deal involving his failure to pay taxes fell apart over the summer. Prosecutors were willing to let the gun charges go as long as Biden abided by the terms of his punishment in that tax case.
