A 15-year-old Mississippi girl, Lexi Jade Brown, was taken into custody last Friday for the alleged attempted murder of her mother.

According to police, at approximately 2:33 a.m. on June 14, 2024, the Gulfport Police Department responded to the 13000 block of Dee Avenue regarding a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The investigation revealed that the victim was asleep in bed when she awoke to find Brown attacking her with a knife.

Brown then attempted to start a fire inside the residence, police say. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

While being questioned by detectives, Brown stated she had been planning to kill her mom because she found her to be a “weird bit*h” and accused her of “suppressing the black in her.”

Brown was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on a $1,250,000 bond by Judge Patano.
