MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Three Marathon residents were arrested after they allegedly broke into an impound lot and stole a towed vehicle to avoid paying nearly $600 in fees.

Kavon Mehranipornejad, 48, Jessica Lynn Mehranipornejad, 46, and Jeffery Francis Boney, 69, were charged with burglary and theft.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the trio illegally entered a lot operated by Florida Keys Towing and removed Boney’s Jeep, which had been towed following a traffic stop in August.

They reportedly stole the vehicle to avoid paying $568 in towing fees.
