TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist near the intersection of N. 19th St and E. 21st Ave.

Officers responded to the scene at 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, locating a 57-year-old adult male bicyclist in the roadway unresponsive after being struck by a motorist.

Tampa Fire Rescue performed lifesaving measures, and the victim was transported to a local hospital but ultimately died from their injuries.

Detectives responded to the scene and began reviewing potential evidence leading to the identity of the driver of a dark-colored sedan that fled the scene after striking the bicyclist.
