TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in the area of 9th Street and Bird Street.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4:25 AM and found an adult male victim suffering from upper body trauma. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.

Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No further details about the incident or potential suspects have been released.
