TAMPA, Fla. – A 46-year-old Tampa man riding a bicycle was fatally struck by a van at the intersection of Nebraska Avenue and Fletcher Avenue on Sunday night.

The incident occurred around 8:20 PM. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Ford E250 van driven by a 45-year-old Lutz man was traveling northbound on Nebraska Avenue when the bicyclist disregarded traffic signals and rode into the van’s path.

The bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van was not injured.

The crash is currently under investigation.
