 A Land O' Lakes man has been arrested following a deadly crash on the Howard Frankland Bridge overnight.

TAMPA, Fla. – A Land O’ Lakes man has been arrested following a deadly crash on the Howard Frankland Bridge overnight.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, on Sunday, at 2:45 AM, a Ford sedan, was traveling northbound on I-275 near Milepost 36. 

Troopers say a Chevrolet SUV and a Ford SUV were traveling northbound ahead of the sedan.

Traveling at a high rate of speed, the Ford Sedan overtook and collided with the rear of the Chevrolet. 

Troopers say the SUV rotated and collided with the outside barrier wall before erupting in flames. 

A passenger of the SUV, a 41-year-old Tampa man, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

All lanes of the Howard Frankland Bridge were reopened at 8:45 AM.
