Markee Washington, 33, of Jacksonville, has pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, a charge carrying a potential 15-year federal prison sentence.

As part of his plea, Washington has agreed to forfeit a Glock pistol, machinegun conversion device, and ammunition involved in the case.

The plea agreement details that on February 11, 2023, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper stopped Washington’s vehicle. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers also arrived at the scene.

A search of the car, prompted by the smell of marijuana and Washington’s admission of use, uncovered a Glock pistol, cash, and ammunition hidden in the car’s ceiling. The pistol was equipped with a device converting it into a fully automatic machinegun.

Subsequent DNA testing linked Washington to the firearm and ammunition. His prior felony convictions, including drug offenses, prohibited him from possessing firearms.
