Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Completes Operation Southern Slowdown HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.- Sheriff Chad Chronister and the Hillsborough
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.- Sheriff Chad Chronister and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office have released the results of “Operation Southern Slowdown,” a week-long initiative aimed at reducing speeding and promoting safer driving in the region.
From July 15th to July 21st, deputies focused their efforts on high-traffic areas, conducting 4,063 traffic stops. This resulted in 301 citations, 3,434 warnings, 85 criminal citations, and 47 arrests.

“As our region continues to grow, education about safe driving practices will be paramount for the safety of our community,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Please, give yourself a few extra minutes on your commute. Wear a seat belt. Stop at red lights before turning. Help us keep our residents safe.”
