HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. – UPDATE CLICK HERE. The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will hold a special meeting at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 to discuss extending the state of local emergency in Hillsborough County and other issues related to managing the ongoing response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

A state of local emergency can be in effect for only seven days, unless extended. The declaration gives the County Administrator and emergency managers the ability to quickly take certain actions to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the community, and provides a path for federal reimbursement of certain expenses.

The meeting will be conducted virtually, via a conferencing application., and we will be streaming it live here at 1:30 PM today. LIVE NOW

The meeting will be captioned on the screen as well.

The BOCC has set aside 20 minutes at the beginning of each meeting to hear from the public. Residents who wish to speak during the meeting should go to our sign up page: Speak at a Virtual BOCC Special Meetings: Local State of Emergency.
