HERNANDO COUNTY, FL. – Initial reports are coming in that water is beginning to flow over parts of Pine Island Drive and Bayou Drive, according to Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
The increase in water level is attributed to high winds on the gulf and the early onset of high tide.
The Hernando County Road Department is currently assessing the area to determine possible road closures.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area now and during high tide which will be between 2 and 3 p.m.
