Proof emerged this week that polling data, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

On Monday, Newsweek breathlessly reported on a new Fox News poll that suddenly had President Joe Biden’s approval rating rocketing up. Fox pegged the left-wing Democrat’s support at 46 percent, the highest level since January.

Yet on Tuesday, Reuters released a survey putting Biden at 40 percent, while the FiveThirtyEight.com aggregate of recent polling had Biden at 42.5 percent.

But however one chooses to read a new poll from Harvard, the finding is indisputable: No matter how popular Biden and his lackeys think he is, he cannot overcome one possible competitor.

Donald Trump.

The Center for American Political Studies at Harvard polled 2,010 voters this month, and Trump was the clear favorite.

Trump posted a 47 percent approval rating, tops among 20 politicians in the poll. Among that group, 28 percent held a “very favorable” view of the 45th president.

In overall results, Trump led his former vice president, Mike Pence, by three points, Biden by four, and Sen. Bernie Sanders by five.

Trump’s gap was even wider among the “very favorable” category. His 28 percent far outpaced the 22 percent posted by both Pence and Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Trump, who had a net rating of zero, as well as Pence, DeSantis, and South Carolina GOP Sen. Tim Scott were the only ones on the Harvard list who were not underwater with voters.

Trump’s standing with the voters has actually improved in this survey.

As The Free Press reported at the time, Trump posted a 42 percent favorability rating in the Harvard poll in July, including 26 percent who gave him a very favorable review.

That’s up five points in three months.
