Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene denounced Hunter Biden as a “coward” at a House hearing on Wednesday, after he fled the hearing room while lawmakers debated whether to hold him in contempt for not answering questions about his shady business deals that have reportedly enriched his family, including President Joe Biden, with millions of dollars.
Hunter made a surprise appearance before the House Oversight Committee, with his lawyers in tow, as the panel debated a contempt of Congress resolution for him. The Judiciary Committee was also simultaneously considering a similar resolution.
Booth committees moved forward on Wednesday evening, setting up a vote by the full House in the near term.

In what appeared to be a stunt to follow up his open defiance of the subpoena that led to the contempt votes, Hunter did not speak.
Instead, he fled before lawmakers asked questions, and did so as Greene, a Georgia Republican, prepared to speak.
Greene then slammed the first son for his departure and unwillingness to testify before House Republicans.
“Apparently you’re afraid of my words,” Greene said as Hunter and his lawyers exited. “I think it’s clear and obvious for everyone watching this hearing today that Hunter Biden is terrified of strong, conservative Republican women.”
“What a coward.”
“Hunter Biden thinks he’s above the law,” she added, then noting that three of former President Donald Trump’s children testified for eight hours each in response to subpoenas filed by Democrats.
She also referenced the fact that left-wing Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell was complicit in helping Hunter break the law by evading the GOP subpoena last month by helping him set up a press conference to criticize Republicans.

Greene also quoted President Biden from October 2021, when the elder Biden called for “anyone” who defies a congressional subpoena should be prosecuted.
A month later the Justice Department indicted former Trump aide Steve Bannon for defying a subpoena issued by the Democrats’ special committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
“Hunter Biden’s father, the president of the United States, said that he should be prosecuted,” she added.
“Hunter Biden showed up today to make a clown show of himself — to show that he is nothing but someone that will not obey the law, that wants to show up when he wants to, sits here with a smug look on his face, and runs away when it’s my turn to talk,” Greene continued.
“Not only is he a criminal, but he is a coward. Nothing but a coward.”
Greene also ripped into Joe Biden, noting that the Oversight Committee has produced significant evidence that he took payments from Hunter’s business interests in exchange for his assistance or promises of that.
“You can’t buy a Biden product, you can’t hire a Biden for a service, unless you’re a foreign country and you’re asking and paying for political favors and political payouts. And that is exactly what the Biden brand is all about,” she said.
