RIVERVIEW, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Harvey Cole, 26, a former substitute teacher at Bridgeprep Academy of Riverview, for indecent exposure.

On May 13th, 2024, two students reportedly walked in on Cole masturbating in a classroom during lunch break. The school promptly notified authorities, leading to an investigation and Cole’s placement on administrative leave.

A warrant was issued for Cole’s arrest on September 11th, and he was subsequently apprehended.

Sheriff Chad Chronister condemned Cole’s actions, emphasizing the breach of trust inherent in such behavior by an educator.

“This man’s actions are utterly reprehensible and a complete violation of the trust placed in educators,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Teachers are entrusted with the safety and well-being of our children, and this individual has not only failed in that duty but has also engaged in behavior that is both shocking and intolerable. We will not allow anyone who preys on our youth to escape justice.”

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
