A food truck exploded Saturday at a Seafood festival, severely injuring one person, according to investigators.
“We are currently on scene investigating an explosion of a food truck at Riverside Park The food truck was participating as a vendor in this weekend ‘s Seafood Festival, which is being held inside Riverside Park.,” said Vero Beach Police Department in a statement.
According to police, one person was severely burned and has been flown to Arnold Palmer’s Hospital Burn Unit in Orlando for treatment.
Indian River County Fire Rescue and the State Fire Marshall’s Office Investigator responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the explosion.
At this time, it is unknown what caused the explosion.
“The scene is secure and has been contained. The Seafood Festival is still going on and open to the public. No other injuries reported,” said VPD.
