Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the suspension of tolls on major highways across the Gulf Coast and Orlando regions, including a large portion of Florida’s Turnpike, to aid residents evacuating ahead of Hurricane Milton.

DeSantis assured the public that there is no fuel shortage in the state, despite increased demand and isolated instances of gas stations running out. He emphasized that fuel deliveries are continuing and stations are being resupplied.

The toll suspension covers a wide range of highways, including Alligator Alley, the Suncoast Parkway, and numerous expressways in Central Florida, aiming to facilitate a smooth and safe evacuation process for residents.
