A 16-year-old Florida boy is facing first-degree murder charges after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend’s mother in a horrific act of revenge.
Eulalia Gonzalez, 38, was shot on the front porch of her home Thursday evening while holding her infant daughter. According to police, the suspect, identified as 16-year-old Eli Zachary Shinhoster, planned the attack after his girlfriend broke up with him.
Shinhoster reportedly confessed to using a rideshare app to travel to Gonzalez’s residence. Authorities allege he intended to inflict pain on his ex by killing a member of her family.

The affidavit details a chilling account of Shinhoster shooting Gonzalez in the head before fleeing the scene and ordering another rideshare back home.
Thankfully, the infant child was unharmed during the attack. A neighbor discovered the unresponsive Gonzalez and called for help.
Police swiftly apprehended Shinhoster at his residence after obtaining a search warrant. The investigation revealed his alleged use of the rideshare app to corroborate his movements.
This senseless tragedy highlights the dangers of unresolved emotions and the potential for violence in young people. Shinhoster’s arraignment is scheduled for later this month. He is being held without bond.
