The Biden administration is hauling the state of Texas to court so that it can literally open the border for illegal immigrants.

On Wednesday, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz showed what that looks like.

The Fort Walton Beach Republican shared a video he received from an unnamed Texas state official that depicted two Border Patrol agents cutting gaps in razor wire that the state laid near the border community of Eagle Pass to try to slow the onslaught of illegals.

As the uniformed agents slice through the rolls of wire, dozens of illegals are seen in the background crossing the Rio Grande River. The agents then begin to help them out of the water.

“I’m currently in Eagle Pass, TX witnessing the intentional destruction of our Southern Border by the Biden administration,” Gaetz posted Wednesday on X.

“This video was sent to me by a Texas official. It shows how illegal aliens are being encouraged to invade our country while the fencing put up by Texas is cut open by @CBP [U.S. Customs and Border Protection].”

“Under the corrupt orders of @SecMayorkas [Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas] and [President] Joe Biden, we will never see our border protected. But if this border is not shut down, then we must shut down the government,” added Gaetz, who was part of a delegation of 60 GOP lawmakers to visit the border.

In a second post, Gaetz showed a photo of a pile of strewn passports that were left behind. “Dozens of Ukrainian and Chinese passports found abandoned at the U.S. Southern Border,” Gaetz posted. “Biden & Mayorkas say the border is secure. What do you think?”

Gaetz’s video was posted one day after Biden’s Justice Department appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court for authority to continue cutting gaps in the razor wire.

As Fox News reported, Texas had sued the administration three months ago after the feds destroyed segments of more than 29 miles of razor wire installed to stop illegals from entering.

In court records, the state noted, “By cutting Texas’s concertina wire, the federal government has not only illegally destroyed property owned by the State of Texas; it has also disrupted the State’s border security efforts, leaving gaps in Texas’s border barriers and damaging Texas’s ability to effectively deter illegal entry into its territory.”

A federal district court judge had blocked an injunction Texas sought to stop the cutting.

But the U.S Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the state, which prompted the administration’s petition to the Supreme Court.

Ironically, the Justice Department argues that if Texas prevails, states will be allowed to force the federal government to do clearly what Biden does not want to do: enforce immigration law.

As noted in court records, the department maintained, “If accepted, the court’s rationale would leave the United States at the mercy of States that could seek to force the federal government to conform the implementation of federal immigration law to varying state-law regimes.”
