A 42-year-old Florida man wanted for failing to pay child support was arrested following a traffic stop on U.S. 1 Wednesday for more than just the payments owed.
According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Gerald Lloyd Joseph Benjamin, 42, of Miami, had active warrants for failure to pay child support when he was stopped at approximately 8:08 p.m. near Mile Marker 98 for having an obstructed tag and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
Deputies located approximately seven grams of fentanyl, approximately 12 grams of ecstasy, and a scale.
