The Florida Lottery announced that Laveral King, 46, of Winter Haven, is one of five national finalists in the running to become the POWERBALL First Millionaire of the Year.

King was selected out of more than 480 semi-finalists from around the country.

In addition to the chance to win the $1 million grand prize, King and the four other finalists will also receive a New Year’s Eve at-home party prize package to help them ring in the new year. The New Year’s Eve at-home party prize package includes a $12,500 cash prize, deluxe surf-and-turf dinner, 70-inch LED TV, karaoke system, $500 gift certificate to Party City, and much more! The $1 million POWERBALL First Millionaire of the Year grand prize winner will be announced just after midnight during the live television broadcast of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2021.

The four other finalists moving on to the New Year’s drawing are Steven Everage from Seymour, IN, Sara Bosh from Aliquippa, PA, Shawn Cantrell from Lincoln, NE, and Carlos Mabry from Washington, D.C.

Fifty Florida semi-finalists were selected and entered for the chance to become one of the five national finalists in the POWERBALL First Millionaire of the Year Promotion by emailing a photo of themselves holding a Florida POWERBALL ticket from October 12-16, 2020.
