Florida man, Zanja Stinson, was wanted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Improper Exhibition of a Firearm.
According to deputies, early Thursday morning, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest Stinson on his active warrants in Fort Pierce.
Stinson fled recklessly in Fort Pierce and then into Indian River County, putting the entire community in danger, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
“Stinson then fled to the Orlando area but made the mistake of trying to sneak back into Indian River County,” said deputies.
Around 9:30 p.m., members of the Street Crimes, K9, Aviation, and road patrol units were alerted that Stinson was back in Indian River County.

“Stinson again fled recklessly, but due to light traffic conditions and the aviation unit, Stinson was not as lucky as he was in the morning,” said IRCSO.
A vehicle pursuit was initiated, and stop sticks were deployed at the 155-mile marker on I95. The stop sticks successfully flattened Stinson’s tires, and he was taken into custody.
“Stinson successfully added aggravated flee and elude, driving on a suspended license, and possession of over 20 grams of marijuana (224g) to his charges,” said investigators.
Stinson will also face additional charges in St. Lucie County and is being held at the Indian River County Jail with a bond of $150,000.
“Some would say he’s out of gas,” said IRCSO. “If you’re going to point guns at people in Indian River County and you’re lucky enough to get away once, you probably shouldn’t come back into our county the same day.”
