A Florida landlord shot his tenant in the head following a heated argument at a get-together in Miami, according to police.

Miami-Dade police responded to the apartment, located at 925 SW 125th Court after they received reports that a man had been shot in the head at about 10 p.m. on Saturday.

When responding officers arrived, they found 27-year-old Armando Alvarez’s body in a pool of blood, according to the Miami Herald.

Following an investigation, police learned Alvarez’s landlord, Samuel Omar Gonzalez, 34, and the pairs girlfriends had a get-together earlier that day when an argument broke out between the two men.

According to the Miami Herald, Alvarez tried to apologize, and Gonzalez, who lives in the main unit with his girlfriend, slapped Alvarez in front of the guests at the party.

Alvarez left the pool area with his girlfriend and went back to his apartment went before Gonzalez took a .40 caliber gun and allegedly confronted the tenant.

Gonzalez then allegedly shot Alvarez in the head and fled the area in a white BMW sedan, according to the Herald.

Police later found and stopped the vehicle at NW 93rd Avenue and 25th Street in Miami at about 1:38 p.m. Sunday and Gonzalez was arrested without further incident.

Detectives told the Miami Herald that they read Gonzalez his Miranda rights at the station and that he later declined to speak to investigators.

Gonzalez has been charged with one count of second-degree murder with a weapon and is being held without bail.
