SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting FHP with a traffic crash involving at least one fatality and other victims.
The crash involved two vehicles that collided on Interstate 75 at mile marker 196 southbound.
Only one southbound lane on Interstate 75 is open.

Honore Avenue from Laurel Road to Castle Drive will be shut down for the duration of the investigation.
Motorists are being asked to take alternate routes to avoid the area. An update will be provided when the roadway is reopened.
