Sharitta Grier, the Florida grandmother who was detained in Turks and Caicos for nearly two months after ammunition was found in her luggage, has finally returned home.

Grier, a 45-year-old mother and grandmother from Orlando, was arrested in May during a surprise Mother’s Day vacation with her daughter. Airport security discovered two bullets in her carry-on bag at the Providenciales International Airport.

She pleaded guilty to one count of possession of ammunition and was fined $1,500 and given a 24-month suspended sentence.

After a nearly two-month delay due to travel document issues and legal processes, Grier arrived at Orlando International Airport on [Date], where she was reunited with her family and supporters.

“I’m just excited about everything, ready to get back home to my family and my grandkids,” Grier said after her sentencing hearing on Thursday, per CBS News.

Grier’s family maintains her innocence, arguing that the ammunition was left in her bag by mistake. Her daughter, who accompanied her on the trip, has vowed to clear her mother’s name.
